As an electric vehicle (EV) driver, you're responsible for returning the vehicle with the same level of charge it had when you picked it up. Failure to do so may result in your host requesting reimbursement.
To avoid disputes, follow these steps:
These records will be crucial if any disagreements arise with your host regarding the vehicle's charge level.
When using a Tesla Supercharger during your trip, be aware that charges will be applied to your host's Tesla account. You may be asked to reimburse these fees, which can include:
Supercharger idle fee: To create a better experience for all owners, we’re introducing a fleet-wide idle fee that aims to increase Supercharger availability.
The Tesla app allows owners to remotely monitor their vehicle, alerting them when their charge is nearly complete and again once it reaches the charge threshold. For every additional minute a vehicle remains connected to the Supercharger, it will incur an idle fee. If the vehicle is moved within five minutes, the fee is waived. Idle fees only apply when a Supercharger station is at 50% capacity or more. Idle fees double when the station is at 100% capacity.
Supercharger congestion fee: At certain Supercharging locations, congestion fees will replace idle fees. A congestion fee is a fee you pay when a Supercharger site is busy, and your vehicle’s battery is above a certain level. You can see the battery charge level where congestion fees apply on your vehicle’s touchscreen.
Congestion fees only apply when:
The Supercharger site is busy
Your vehicle’s battery is already at or above the congestion fee level
If you meet all the above criteria during your Supercharging session, you will receive an alert in the Tesla app. You will have a five-minute grace period to disconnect your vehicle and leave before congestion fees apply. After the grace period, you will be charged a fee for each minute you remain connected to the Supercharger.
This fee encourages drivers to charge only as much as is needed for their trip, rather than all the way to 100%. This increases the availability of Superchargers so that everyone has access when they need it.

Note that you're responsible for all Supercharging fee’s during your trip! All supercharging fee’s will be reflected in your ZEVO account in real time.

If you return the EV with a lower charge than when you received it, your host may request reimbursement based on the following scale:
