If a ZEVO vehicle gets impounded during your rental, you are responsible for the tow yard and impound fees. ZEVO does not cover these costs.

What counts as your responsibility

If the vehicle is towed or impounded at any point while it is in your possession, the fees to release it are yours to pay. This includes situations like:

What happens if the vehicle is stolen

If the vehicle is stolen during your rental and later recovered by a tow yard, this situation goes through an insurance and claims review. You should contact ZEVO Support immediately if your vehicle is stolen. Impound fees in theft cases are still not covered by ZEVO and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis as part of the claims process.

What to do if your vehicle is impounded

  1. Contact the tow yard directly to confirm the location and fees.
  2. Notify ZEVO Support right away via the app or chat.
  3. Do not let fees accumulate — tow yards typically charge daily storage fees.

A note on your deposit

Impound fees are separate from your security deposit. ZEVO will not use your deposit to cover impound costs on your behalf.
