While Tesla recommends charging to 80% for daily use, we've set a maximum charge limit of 90% to give you that extra cushion when you need it. For most trips, we recommend charging to 80% - this sweet spot helps maintain optimal battery health while providing ample power for your daily adventures!
To maintain vehicle health and ensure a great experience for all users, please keep an eye on your battery level and charge proactively:

At 20% Battery Level: Alert! Your vehicle battery is running low. This is the ideal time to charge - please locate a charging station right away.

Repeatedly ignoring the low-battery warnings can result in fees. Violations escalate as follows:
Returning the vehicle with insufficient charge may result in ZEVO fees. Tesla may also assess separate network congestion or idle fees at busy Superchargers. Contact ZEVO Customer Care for booking-specific details.
At busy Superchargers, Tesla may charge congestion or idle fees once the vehicle reaches the threshold displayed in the car or app, or after charging stops. Tesla currently uses an 80% congestion threshold and provides a five-minute grace period.
